Aji Chy Bridge bridge is one of the oldest bridge in the region. Its is on the Aji Chay river at the western part of Tabriz. Its history goes back to the time while Tabriz still a small village. Located at the ancient Silk Road, the bridge always had a major role in connecting east to the west. Bridge architecture is homogeneous. The bridge due to flooding rivers and forests of a region repeatedly been damaged and repaired. The bridge includes 16 span with an overall length of 105 and width of meters 5 meters[1].
The bridge, built over Quri Chay river in northwestern sector of the city dates back to the pre-Safavid period. It was repaired by the Tabriz's famous merchant, Haji Seyyed Hussein, when the Qajar crown prince, Abbas Mirza resided in Tabriz[2].
Nowadays a new bridge has been built just behind this ancient bridge and traffic is transferred to the new bridge, and the bridge is open only for pedestrian visitors.
